Scanning of aerial film is done on one of two high resolution Zeiss/Intergraph (ZI) Photo Scanners at a resolution defined by the final pixel size. The PS1 and the Intergraph Scan Server Digital System are designed as high speed, automatic and computer controlled system for enhanced digital output.

These two film scanners are the most precise scanning instruments available in today´s market and are designed specifically for photogrammetric work. They process both color and black & white film. Precise calibration is performed both geometrically and radiometrically utilizing the capture of the image and a reseau grid at the time of scan.

High quality digital images are the basis of most photogrammetric mapping, which produces digital ortho photos and vector base maps.  The scanned images are also used in the visualization of three-dimensional images to facilitate terrain and GIS analysis.
