Optimal Geomatic has the capability of performing ground control surveys utilizing either Global Positioning System or conventional methodologies.
Airborne GPS |
Using technology to increase the quality of a product and the efficiency in producing it is one reason Optimal Geomatic Technologies uses airborne kinematic on-the-fly GPS positioning for most photogrammetric mapping applications. Our system is comprised of a dual frequency GPS receiver linked to a state-of-the-art, high-precision aerial camera, the LH Systems RC-30.
During the aerial photography mission, event markers are recorded and
post-processed to determine the exact location of the camera at the time of exposure. At the same time, a minimum of two additional GPS
receivers are positioned over known ground control points recording accurate coordinates.
After completion of the Airborne GPS mission, the data are adjusted in a network solution.
Large numbers of ground control points once needed for aerial photography are
requirements of the past. When incorporated in the fully analytical aerial triangulation (FAAT) and IMU post processing the Optimal Geomatic Airborne GPS solution will yield a
significant reduction of up to eighty (80) percent of required ground control points. Fewer ground control points represent a savings of
time and provides the most economical solution for your project.
For operational purposes, we establish control points in the corners and throughout the control block. In addition, supplemental ground control points are placed and surveyed in around the mapping area to serve as independent check points to meet and satisfy the quality control requirements.
Conventional Surveying |
Our firm has established over 8,000 GPS
points using highly qualified Registered Land Surveyors, survey crews, and the most
advanced equipment and software available. All survey efforts are overseen, stamped, and
certified by a Registered Land Surveyor as to the required accuracy, and will support
mapping products that meet all applicable standards and regulations.
